Physiotherapy is a profession dedicated to the treatment and management of muscle, joint and nerve disorders, aiming to restore normal function that may have been compromised through injury, aging, disease or environmental factors.
At Sprint Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists are highly trained in movement analysis. We are expert in assessing and treating sports injuries, work related injuries, motor vehicle injuries and general physical injuries/discomfort. Physiotherapists also play a critical role in rehabilitation following more serious injuries, especially after surgery.
Allocated physiotherapy treatment times vary: Initial Consultation- 45 minutes to 1 hour, Standard Consultation – 30 minutes, and Extended Consultation – 45 minutes. Massages can be booked for 30 minutes, 45 minutes or one hour.
No, attending The Physiotherapy can be done on a self referral basis although we do have GP’s and consultants who refer to us. However it may be a requirement of your insurance company for reimbursement. We encourage all patients to examine their individual insurance plans to determine their need for referral.
If you have a leg or back injury please bring a pair of shorts. Females with neck or shoulder injuries should bring a vest top. If the injury is related to running bring your normal shoes for running as you may be assessed on a treadmill. Generally loose fitting clothing is ideal. If you have a lower limb complaint, we recommend wearing a pair of shorts and if you have an upper limb, back or neck complaint then singlet top would be ideal.
When you call to make your first appointment, you will be asked to come in 10-15 minutes early in order to fill out the necessary paperwork. When you arrive, you will be met by our friendly reception staff who will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have. You will then be shown to one of our stylish treatment rooms where your physiotherapist will perform a thorough interview and physical assessment, enabling them to diagnose your condition and its source. Your physiotherapist will then explain your injury to you, discuss the treatment options that will best facilitate a speedy recovery; and your treatment will commence. Throughout the first session, self-management and training (exercise) techniques will be discussed and demonstrated where appropriate. This process is likely to take around 30-45 minutes. The session may be extended if the physiotherapist decides to apply an electrotherapy modality or heat therapy at the very end. Our reception staff have been trained to safely remove these treatment modalities and will do so at a time determined by the physiotherapist.
We have enough parking on site for 50-75 cars at a time. Feel free to park on either side of the building or in the back.
